first session

liminal space counseling

what can i expect For my first counseling session?

Once you have scheduled an appointment at Liminal Space Counseling, you will receive an email with some links to paperwork to fill out online or print out. Please fill this out before your appointment, which will allow for more time to talk and hear what's going on with you in session.  Please bring your photo id and payment in the form of cash, check, or credit/debit card.  If you are using insurance, please bring your insurance card. Those using insurance will see the name of my billing entity, LHC Consulting, PC, on their intake forms. See below for office location and parking details.

Please help yourself to a drink and take a seat in the waiting room and Analisa will be with you at your scheduled appointment time. There are keys for the restrooms in the waiting room and the restrooms are located out through the double doors and down the hall on the left.

Our first one to two sessions will be around an hour in length and involve assessment and evaluation of your needs.  This will provide the foundation for our work together and allow Analisa to hear what you have been going through and any relevant history that may be contributing to what brings you into counseling.  After the assessment is complete, we will design a treatment plan that contains your goals and wishes for counseling. This is a road map in which we capture your voice, wants, and needs.  It is a fluid plan, meaning we can revisit these therapy goals at any time to make changes and adjustments to meet your needs. We will spend our sessions working on meeting these markers, so you can see positive change and increased wellness in your day to day life.

So, take a deep breath, and invest in yourself and your wellbeing today.  It has the potential to change your life and relationships for the better!
